Recognition Luncheon November 16, 2012

On November 16, 2012 labor, business and city leaders joined other prominent community members at the Playa Vista Job Opportunities and Business Services (PVJOBS) Recognition Luncheon, "Transforming Lives & Communities." This event honored individuals and organizations which have helped PVJOBS realize its vision of creating meaningful social change through coordinated services and career development.

We invite you to support this vision and join us in this moving and inspirational recognition of the achievements of our clients and supporters.

"Transforming Lives & Communities" began at 11 a.m. Friday, November 16, in The Center at the Cathedral Plaza, 555 West Temple Street in Los Angeles. PVJOBS is a non-profit organization established in 1998 to provide job placement opportunities for at-risk adults. We also work with veterans and at-risk youth providing services to assist in their educational and career development.

Four participants, referred to PVJOBS by one of our collaborative partners, received recognition awards at our event. Additionally, the PVJOBS "Contractor of the Year" award was given to Hensel Phelps in recognition of their exceeding the hiring goals on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center Inpatient Tower renovation project. John Reamer, director of the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration, received our "Visionary of the Year" award and delivered the afternoon's keynote address.
